Antarctica is the coldest place on earth. It is considered to be a frozen desert because there is little precipitation. Temperatures reach a minimum of between -80 C and -90C in the winter, and between +5 C and +15 C on the coast in the summer.
Southern Ocean temps vary from -2 – 10 degrees Celsius.
