Plant Varieties

    • A vascular plant - has the ability to transport water and nutrients

    • A non-vascular plant - does not have a root system, stems, or leaves.

      • There are approximately 250 species of Lichens (an ever enduring fungus-like species that has been found to be so hardy, it can endure an extended amount of time in space)

    • There are approximately 100 species of Moss (a small, soft-like non-vascular plant, which tend to grow in clumps and produce spore capsules instead of flowers or seeds)

    • There are approximately 25-30 species of liverwort ( they are a type of plant which grows in damp locations and in deep shade, they tend to look like flatten moss. It was believed at one point that these plants could help prevent liver-disease.)

    • And there is of course, algae (a plant which lacks leaves, flowers, stems, roots; they vary between simplistic single-celled forms to complex forms *example is kelp*)
